Chateau Camensac, 2000 (Grand Cru, Haut-Medoc, Bordeaux)

Although Chateau Camensac achieved Grand Cru status in the famed 1855 classification, many might argue that it no longer warrants the accolades.  Such criticism may be valid.  Pricing for the wine, however, is also much lower than most of the other Grand Cru Bordeauxs.  As such, it's actually a pretty good deal if you just stick to buying it during "can't miss" vintages, such as 2000.  The wine has more earth than fruit, and seems to have just about reached full maturity.

3.5 stars.  I picked up 4 of these at auction for only about $25 each during the summer of 2008.  Search the internet if interested in buying some.
