I am a big fan of the Flora Springs portfolio, and firmly believe that the Trilogy is one of the best California meritage wines out there.  Recently, however, I had the opportunity to try a bottle of the old 1993 vintage.  The wine is a blend of 40% cabernet sauvignon, 40% merlot, and 20% cabernet franc.  I had not owned this bottle since release, so I can not testify as to it's storage.  The wine was extremely drinkable, but was clearly losing it's fruit and seemed to be a few years past it's prime.  Perhaps with better storage it would have been a different story.  The wine was probably drinking at the 4 sar level 5 or 6 years ago, but the bottle I had was drinking at the 3 star level.
