Terra Valentine Cabernet Franc (Napa Valley) 2002

Ordinarily I am not a huge fan of 100% Cab Franc from California.  I've had a few really good ones, but most have been too "herbal", sometimes bordering on "weedy".  The 2002 Terra Valentine Cab Franc is excellent.  Nice dark coloring, a great bouquet of mixed black fruit and a sweet finish.  Tastes more like Cabernet Sauvignon than Cab Franc.  Slip this into a blind tasting and I'll bet no one will guess what it is.

Very good, 3.75 stars.
