I will be frank on this one.  This is one of the ten best wines I had in all of 2007.  I tried it twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times.  It amazes me that the wine is not better known, but I think it's obscurity is a good thing.  The wine is a blend of 67% cabernet sauvignon and 33% merlot, all grown on Cloudview's estate vineyard on Pritchard Hill in Napa Valley.  The wine boasts dark color, has plenty of robust mountain style cabernet, softened perfectly by the merlot which gives the wine a silky texture and wonderful drinkability.  It drinks much better than most Bordeaux blends do at this age.

4.5 stars.  Was bought for $65 at Meritage Wine Market in Encinitas.

      Hi,

I very much enjoy your reviews and comments across all wines. I'm a big fan of Cloud View Cab/Merlot and was wondering, what other wines/vinyards make a similar-tasting-structured wine as Cloud View?

      Thanks,

      Todd
