Many people taste Temecula wines and assume that good wine can not be grown in Southern California.  The reality is just that you have to grow the right grapes in the right regions.  Temecula has not been a good place for Cabernet Sauvignin.  Conversely, the mountains and cnyons east of Malibu seem to produce excellent cabs.  First we had Rosenthalm now we have Semmler.  This wine could give a lot of Napa cabs a serious run for the money.  This wine, which sells in the $25 dollar range tastes like the Napa cabs in the $45 range.  I would strongly recommend that all wine freaks try this wine (or the Rosenthal) before passing judgement on Southern California red wine.

3.75 stars.  Ready to drink now.
