Arns Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003

This is quite simply one of the best cabernets in California.  Arns actually produces two different cabs.  One is designated as Arns Estate Cabernet, and the other simply is referred to as Arns Napa Valley Cabernet.  The estate wine is produces from grapes grown on the Arns property.  It is an exellent wine, although considerably more expensive than the Arns Napa cabernet, which is a blend of Arns estate grapes and grapes purchased from the Melanson vineyard.  If you are drinking the wines young, I actually prefer the less expensive Arns Napa (blended) cab over the more expensive 100% Estate grown cab.

This wine has a lot of black fruit but packs a big punch in a velvet glove.  If you like California cabs, you can spend twice what this wine costs but you'll have a hard time finding a better balanced full bodied, easy to drink Cab.
