For some reason, I always assumed Napa Wine Company was a gimick.  This was an incorrect assumption on my part.  I bought this wine when I bought some Ghost Block Cabernet, since it seemed that the current Ghost Block (which started in the 2004 vintage) may be related to the old "Oakville designated" cab from Napa Wine Co.  With 5 years of ageing under it's belt, the 2002 Oakville cab from NWC was excellent.  Dark in color, bountiful on the nose and sweet on the palate with some woody notes and plenty of fruit and a well integrated finish.  Just shy of 4 stars.  Purchased at the Third Corner Wine Shop and Restaurant in Ocean Beach.
