I Selvatici Cardisco 2003 (Sangiovese di Toscana IGT)

This 100% Tuscan Sangiovese wine does not conform to Chianti regulations, hence the IGT designation.  It is a very good medium bodied "Chianti-like" wine.  Somewhat soft when first opened, it took on dusty smokey notes after about 30 minutes of in-bottle decanting.  Light ruby in color, wild cherry and smoke on the palate, and a slightly racy vibrant finish.  A great wine to pair with tomato based Italian or Meditteranian cuisine.
