Readers of this web site have seen me heap praise on the standard bottling of Simi Cabernet.  One of the top California cabs for under $25; No doubt about it!.  They also make a stellar reserve Cabernet, which unfortunately, is harder to locate.

The 1999 Simi Reserve Cab can stand up to may wines selling for twice the price.  In other words, this 50 dollar cab drinks like a 100 dollar cab.

A big bouquet, blackberry, black currant, smoke, cedar, and anise, and a velvety finish.  The wine drinks beautifully now, but can last at least 5 years in the cellar.
