This entry was posted on 6/20/2007 7:38 PM and is filed under California Cabernets.

This delightful wine was directed my way courtesy of my brother, who shares a passion for good California cabs.  I had never heard of Sempre Vive up until now.  Sempre Vive is the name of the line of cabernet wines produced by Romeo Vineyards, a small Napa winery in the Calistoga area.  Sempre Vive makes a couple of different cabernets.  I have only had the pleasure of tasting the "Eugenia"

The 2002 Sempre Vive Eugenia boasts nice saturated deep color, and delivers a sweet bouquet of blackberry, plum, and cedar.  Plenty of black fruit and a hint of red cherry tease the palate, and a long sweet finish rounds out this wonderful wine.

Production is limited, and the wine is difficult to find at retail, but it can be purchased from the winery's on-line store at www.RomeoVineyards.com

I rate this wine a solid 4 stars.  The Eugenia sells for $50.oo.  Their entry level cab sells for $30.00.
