At a recent wine tasting I was at, the Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape 2001 took top honors for best wine of the night.  The wine is rustic, meaty, smokey, with a long lingering finish.  Very well done, and one of the better priced Chateauneufs at the top end.  About half the price of Beaucastel and some of the other more recognizable brands.
