This wine, bottled under screw cap is one of many wines now coming out of "Gary's Vineyard" in Monterey County's Santa Lucia Highlands appelation.  All are fairly similar, with subtle differences based on winemaker intervention.  It is fun to line them all up and do a blind tasting.  I have had Gary's Vineyard Pinots from several producers, and this may be my favorite.

Ruby in color, with lots of smokey, cedar notes on the nose as well as mixed black fruit, followed by flavors of blackberry, black cherry, boysenberry and plum.

Very nice;  Just shy of 4 stars
