Kosta Browne Rose' of Pinot Noir, 2006 (Russian River Valley)

This entry was posted on 4/23/2007 8:07 PM and is filed under uncommon wines, California and Oregon Pinot Noir.

Kosta Browne has become a "gotta have" status symbol these days for the Pinot Noir crowd.  It's easy to see why, given the great scores these wines command.  They are hard to come by, unless you are on the winery mailing list.  Even then, it is hard to get their most sought after wines.

The Rose' of Pinot Noir is probably KB's least sought after wine.  This is a pitty, because it is a very nice wine.  Another perfect summer "Quaffer", as the Australians like to call light bodied easy to enjoy wines.  Personally, I enjoyed the Kutch Pinot Rose' (also reviewed on this site) more than the Kosta Browne, but both have a lot of similarities.  Pink color, strawberry and cherry nose, somewhat tangy on the finish.  A nice summertime picnic wine, and it can be paired with light cuisine, or can be enjoyed by itself.

3.5 stars
