This winery is relatively new.  This represents the first opportunity I have had to sample their wines.  The 2002 Kuleto Estate Cab is a big time fruit-bomb, but I do not use that term in a negative sense.  The wine will appeal greatly to those who like California cabs and shun Bordeaux.  The wine has great color and extraction, and brings notes of smoke, blackberry, and an almost Chambord like jammy fruit explosion.  There is great purity of fruit here.  No gamey notes, forest floor, underbrush, or other flavors that seem to appeal to some and are detested by others.  If you like big, in your face, Cali Cabs, you'll like this one.  If you like softer Bordeaux style blends with a lot of secondary flavors, this will not be your bag.  Personally, I like both styles, and I give this wine 4 stars.
