Querciabella Chianti Classico 2004

This is a very high quality Chianti Classico.  Like most Chianti, it is drinkable immediately, but packs a little more spice and has more complexity and a more brooding character than most Chiantis.  If the finish were a tad longer, some might get fooled into thinking this was a minor league Brunello.  Very well done.

3.75 stars.  $23.99 at the Wine Connection in Del Mar.
