Barlow "Barrouge" 2003 Napa Valley

The Barlow Barrouge for 2003 is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot.  The wine was drinking nicely, but was still a little too tannic for my palate.  I think the wine will be much better in 2008 or 2009.  Plenty of fruit here, a little underbrush, and a moderate amount of tannin that needs some time.

3.25 stars now.  May rise to the upper 3's in a year or two.

$40 at Meritage Wine Market in Encinitas.
