This is a great wine for those who want to introduce themselves to good Australian Shiraz without going into debt.  The wine retails for about $22, but can usually be found in the $15 to $20 range.  Coonawarra tends to be a little cooler than many of the other Shiraz growing regions of Australia, and the wine takes on a somewhat more subdued less jammy character.

This wine has a lot going on.  Earthy, somewhat peppery, with plenty of black fruit, cherry and a touch of cedar.  Fine tannins and an easy finish.
