Terrabianca is a great wine producer in Tuscany.  They make several different wines including a nice Chianti Classico.  Their real forte' is their super-Tuscan blends, Ceppate and Campaccio.  The Ceppate is the more expensive of the two.  The Campaccio is one of the best values out there for Super-Tuscans.  The 2001 Campaccio is a blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.  Berries, plums, vanilla and spice on the nose and a multi-dimensional play on the palate.  A truly fabulous wine.

4 stars.

I purchased a few bottles of this wine at the Wine Exchange in Orange County for $23.00.  They are now sold out.  The last bottle I purchased was from the Del Mar Wine Company for about $32.00.  Vintage Wines on Miramar Road has it advertised for about $25.00.  Full retail price for the wine is $39.00.
