Readers of this web site are aware of how impressed I was with the entire portfolio of Larkmead wines after tasting at the winery in September.  I have not had the opportunity to sample any of their older vintages until now.  At a recent gathering, the host of the party produced a bottle of the 1999 Larkmead cab.  From what I understand, the bottle was purchased at the Holiday Wine Cellars in Escondido.  The Larkmead was the hit of the party, and was drinking better than the 1995 and 1997 vintages of Flora Springs Rutherford Hillside Reserve, and that's saying something!

The wine had an expansive bouquet, and a thick layered saturation of the palate, and a smooth finish.
