This entry was posted on 8/27/2006 8:29 PM and is filed under California and Oregon Pinot Noir.

The Beaux Freres Winery was a joint project of Michael Etzel and his brother in law, famed wine critic Robert Parker, Jr.  The first vintage for Beaux Freres was 1991.  They have rapidly moved to the top of the heap amongst Oregon Pinots.  The 2003 Beaux Freres Pinot Noir has a lovely bouquet somewhere in the middle of the spectrum between central coast California Pinot Noir and Burgundy.  A lot of fruit forward approachability, and some of the earthy, foresty aromas of Burgundy.  The wine does a good job of offering the best of both worlds.  I rank this wine with the upper echelon of American Pinot Noir.
