This wine is a super value and will appeal to those who like grenache based wines from Spain and the Rhone River Valley of France.  It is a 100% Grenache from the famed Barossa Valley in Australia.  It is a project from a collaboration of Chris Ringland (wine maker to the stars in OZ), David Hickinbotham (grape grower to the stars in OZ), and Dan Phillips, the importer who is putting a lot of Australian wineries into the mainstream marketplace here in the USA.  The wine was purchased for 8 dollars at the Wine Exchange in Orange County.  It is not terribly complex on the nose, but the bouquet is pleasant, and the fruit sweet.  The wine is a tad bit hot (alcohol 14.7%), and the finish would benefit from another year of bottle age to round out the rough edges of the tannins.  Those who like their tannins rough will enjoy drinking it now.  It can not compete with the super premium Grenach based wines in the market place, but will blow the doors off of most other wines in the under 10 dollar category.
