Although I am a huge fan of Heitz, I found the 1999 Bella Oaks to be, quite uncharacteristically, a little soft on the nose.  Other than that, I was quite happy with this wine.  The tannins have softened, and the wine is reaching full maturity.  I would be tempted to age this one a little less than most other vintages of Heitz Bella Oaks based on this tasting.  Perhaps I just got a bad bottle though.  I do have a few more 1999's in the cellar, and will update this review if the others have stronger bouquets.
