I loved this wine.  The wine was purchased in May of 2006 for $49.99 (at the Wine Connection in Del Mar), which is a really good price for high quality 10 year old Bordeaux.  The bottle, cork, and wine were all in pristine condition, and the wine scored 4+ stars.  The wine won wine of the month for June 2006 on our main VinoCritic.com site.  The full review can be read on the main web site by clicking here.

      VC,
Nice choice while I'll agree that it is not an everyday wine it is very good. And the price for value great, but a wild game taste? man my palette must really suck because I never tasted that at all.
      You're stil the master.

The wild game was a component of the wine's bouquest, not a taste.  It means, to me, a sort of smokey, earthy, untamed aroma, as opposed to a fruity smell.  That's the beauty of wine.  Each person's nose and palatte will give a different description of the same wine.  So what are your "tasting notes" on this wine?

      VC,
I get the smokey and earthy tones as well as some for lack of a better description Italian herbs... I know strange. It is a very flavorable and complex wine to me.
