Castello Banfi Summus 2000

This entry was posted on 5/4/2006 7:22 PM and is filed under Italian Wines-Tuscany, Brunello, Chianti.

This was one of the first super-Tuscans to generate a large following in the USA with widespread availability.  It is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.

It has a dark garnet color, lovely aromatics of black fruit and a little spice; enough fruit on the palate to get your attention, but with enough well integrated tannin to make this a serious wine.  Nice finish.  Good wine.
