When I first opened a bottle of this wine and sniffed the cork, the smell of TCA was overpowering.  I decanted, and it was still there.  It was definitely a TCA tainted corked bottle of wine.  It smelled bad and tasted bad.

Fortunately, I had a second bottle, which I then opened.  Ahhhh.  It was delightful.  It was really interesting to taste the two wines side by side.  Anyone who has never tasted corked wine, but thinks he/she might be drinking one owes it to themselves to try to taste the same wine from another bottle if possible.  If you do this just once, you will know exactly what TCA tainting tastes like, and what it does to a wine.  Then, the next time you get a corked bottle at a restaurant, you can send it back and not just wonder if you ordered a perfectly good bottle of wine that you just happen not to like!

The wine had a light, but lovely bouquet of floral scents, smoke, and wet earth.  Both black and red fruits were on the palate, and the finish was lovely, albeit a little short.
