Chasseur 2004 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

This entry was posted on 4/23/2006 9:21 PM and is filed under California and Oregon Pinot Noir.

Chasseur is an underappreciated producer of fine California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.  They produce two Pinot Noirs.  One is from the Russian River Valley AVA, and the other from the Sonoma Coast AVA.  Both retail for $35.

I sampled the 2004 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.  It had a complex, but restrained nose, and bright ripe fruit and cola notes on the palate.  The wine is lovely now, but may improve over the next year.
