This is an interesting wine.  It is 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Malbec, and 48% Petite Verdot.  I don't think I have ever seen such a high percentage of Petite Verdot in a wine before.  It is usually used only in small quantities for blending.  It is a very late ripening grape, and in most territories, it is not ripe enough to pick befoe the cold damp fall weather hits.  There are a few privileged areas where it thrives.  It is a big bold grape with grippy tannin.  The three grapes blended here are all big muscular varietals, and consequently, this is a big wine.  A slighlty peppery nose, dark fruit and tannin on the palate, and a long finish.  I think this wine would benefit from a few more years of bottle age.  The wine was $16.99 at the Wine Sellar in Sorrento Valley.
