I really liked this wine a lot.  It comes from the Santa Lucia Highlands area of California, near Monterrey.  It is a very robust, multidimensional  Pinot Noir.  A lot of earthy notes on the bouquet, followed by a rich layered palate of black fruit, followed by a smooth lingering finish.  The wine, like many pinots from this region, has a lot of old world complexity to it.  Alcohol content is relatively high for pinot noir at 14.9%, but you would never know by tasting it.  The alcohol and tannin are very well integrated.
