Loring Wine Company Gary's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2004

Another wine from the Santa Lucia Highlands area in Monterrey county. Gary's vineyard is owned by Gary Pisoni and Gary Franscioni. Grapes from this vineyard are sold to several wineries including Loring, Roar, Kosta Browne, A.P.Vin, Siduri, and a slew of others. Every one that I have tried has been good.
Like many of the pinots from Santa Lucia highlands, this wine has a distinctly earthy bouquet. However, it is not nearly as pronounced as the Rosella's vineyard pinot from Loring. Those who like their pinots a little more delicate will prefer this wine over the Rosella's vineyard. I really enjoy both and savor "la difference". The nose is characterized by slight earthiness, mocha, and black fruit. The black fruit carries onto the palate, and the wine finishes in perfect harmony with a delightful finish.
The wine, like most Loring wines for 2004 comes with a screw top closure.
