I purchased this wine for $27.99 at Costco in March 2006.  Normal retail is in the 40-something dollar range.  This wine continues the hot streak that Mondavi has been on for the last 2 years.  This is a really big cab.  The tannins are still a little strong now, but the wine will be found enjoyable for the tannin loving folks who can't wait to dry out their palates.  The wine has a beautiful bouquet of smoke, tobacco leaf and black fruit.  The fruit carries stronly onto the palate.  The tannin doesn't hit you until the finish, but you know it's there when it does.  Tannin freaks should drink this now.  Those who like tannins soft should wait until year's end before drinking this beauty.  I give this wine 3.75 stars now, and feel it will reach 4 stars by Christmas time.
