Produttori del Barbaresco 2001

This entry was posted on 3/15/2006 8:12 PM and is filed under Italian wines, Piedmont, Barolo and Barbaresco.

This is the Barbarsco blend from Produttori from 2001.  I have not yet sampled any of the single vineyard premium Barbarescos from this producer from 2001.

The regular barbaresco from Produttori for 2001 is a delightful, easy drinking medium bodied red with cherry and plum notes on the nose and palate, and a slightly tannic finish.  Although drinkable now, the wine will benefit from another 1-2 years of bottle age.  The wine was bought at auction for roughly 15 dollars.  Retail, usually runs in the 20's.
