Heitz Cabernet Sauvignon Bella Oaks Vineyard 1995

For the life of me, I can not figure out why the mainstream press has not given the Hetiz single vineyard wines more love.  Maybe it is because they don't advertise, they don't kiss media buns, and they avoid trendy marketing and labels.  The Bella Oaks offering from Heitz is a block buster every year, in my opinion.  The 1995 has hit its peak, and should stay in top form for another 5 years or more.  A beautiful bouquet jumps out of the glass screaming of blackberry, boysenberry, tobacco leaves and cedar.  The  wine coats the palate with layers of fruit.  The tannins are so soft now that they seem to just blow away.  The finish is smooth, and it lasts forever.  A perfect example of California Cabernet.
