Seghesio remains one of my favorite producers of California zinfandel.  Their standard Sonoma bottling represents, in my opinion, the best value for California Zin.  The wine is usually found for under 20 dollars.  The Old Vine Zinfandel, and the San Lorenzo zinfandel are a notch better, and about 10 dollars more expensive.  The latter two are capable of aging.  The former is intended for immediate consumption.  These wines all tend to be full bodied, tangy, with lots of raspberry and peppery spice.  These wines all tend to be fairly high in alcohol.

Seghesio Sonoma zinfandel 3 stars
Seghesio San Lorenzo and Old Vine zinfandels, 3.25 stars
