Please see my comments under the Vincent Girardin Burgundy to see my approach to red Burgundy.  Louis Latour is another producer who makes reliabe wines every year.  You will rarely go wrong with his wines, and the prices are reasonable for the quality.  But like all good red burgundy, it is never cheap.  Louis Latour is another negociant producer, and has been in business for decades.  1999 was a pretty good year in Burgundy, and this wine is a good example.  Plums, black cherry, and candied apples followed by a Pinot fruit bomb.  Silky and elegant, as Burgundy should be.  Bring this wine home to your special someone, and let the romance begin.  Valentines day, anyone?  4 stars
